I am an individual with several chronic health conditions and I feel failed by this practice. I find getting an appointment extremely difficult. The triage system does not work because receptionists (who are not medically trained) are taking the intial notes before triage even begins. Triage will only be effective if recording and reporting is done correctly. I have to ask for an emergency appointment if I need to be seen quickly. The parking is an issue. There are more doctors spaces than there are patient spaces. I understand that this is a free car park and it's first come, first serve. However, some people, like myself have to park at least somewhere near to the actual surgery. When I go to the doctors, I'm unwell, in pain and unable to walk far. Telling patients to use the Waitrose car park (which I'm sure Waitrose aren't too happy about) or try to get parked elsewhere isn't always helpful. To add insult to this, if you are late for your appointment because you couldn't get parked... Tough luck. You simply cannot win. Or you can chance it, like I do, and risk getting a £15 ticket by parking in a doctors bay. I pay the £15 because walking so far with my joint pain isn't worth parking anywhere else. If you try to appeal this, the managers of the building are less than sympathetic to any appeal. Referrals, if you want one, take a very long time. This is common knowledge. I took out private care to be seen quicker so I can get better and get on with my life. Parishes Bridge say a private referral will take a week to write up, that's fine. However, my referrals have taken much longer (3 weeks) and no one will call you to let you know when they are ready to pick up, even if you request they do so. I've also requested a referral and it's gone "missing" no one called me about that either. Parishes Bridge can still impeed your recovery even when you pay to be seen quicker elsewhere. It's almost a waste of money... Repeat prescriptions are a joke. As a diabetic I would like to have more than 2 months supply of insulin at a time. It has a long shelf life, there is no need to have additional admin and paperwork for a drug I will use and will last a long time. I do not want to spend any more of my time waiting around for prescriptions at the chemist than I already have to. It's laughable, it's as if they think I have nothing better to do. I have asked for this to be changed, they refuse to help me. There are many other issues I have with this practice but I think I'll stop before I write an essay. I wouldn't reccomend this practice to anyone. I am extremely unhappy with this practice and the setting in general. I will be changing practice and going elsewhere. Anywhere will be better than here.
